The Weather Outside is Frightful (by Travis)

It's Tuesday. The weather in TFN land is cold enough to freeze the balls off a pool table. The wind is blowing enough to beat the band and all we are asking for is just enough blue sky to knit a kitten a pair of britches.

Times has been good lately for Thanks For Nothing. We just found out we will be entertaining Kobe Bryant during a Memphis Grizzlies halftime show, we will be playing at the Sheraton Casino on New Year's Eve, and we will be adding A LOT of shows to the calendar in the near future. We also will be dropping a big announcement here in the next couple days that will hopefully blow up faster than a basketball in a tube sock.

Other than the teasin, we have some pleasin. The last couple weeks have been quite adventurous. we have made it through 8 states in 4 days, played three shows, chilled at the bridge, door checked some road cones, got "Broner" some love, and chilled in a maybe haunted, but probably not, hotel room. Celebrated Christmas, got some goodies and gave a few. Chad got some wicked awesome guitars and motified another. All fun and games...

So anywho, story time. A couple weeks ago, we went on a blooming leg from Fayetteville, to Louisville, to Memphis, to Gulfport, Mississippi, to Hattiesburg and back home. Along the way, we got into some mischief and made some homies... Basically, the whole trip comes down to Broner, our new mascot.

Until evidence proves otherwise, Broner is probably the best thing to happen to Thanks For Nothing, as far as materialized mascots are concerned. His eyes light up, his head is removable and creepy looking, and he perches up in wonderful fassion upon a microphone stand.

The trip was a blast to say the least... Before a pop off this blog, I must say, if any of you have an airplane or a will to drive long distances, I personally invite you out to the Sheraton Casino on New Years Eve in the South's Las Vegas, Tunica, Mississippi. Later people, enjoy the pics and vids.

kneaded: dough (by Travis)

Do you get it? kneaded: dough. It's like a double entendre.

It's almost halloween folks, bout time to break out the slutty get ups and watch people get crappy drunk and make a scene. For this, it is one Thanks For Nothing's favorite time of the year. Why? Because we like wearing slutty costumes. Don't believe us? Here is a photo of Brandon last year in his Halloween costume.

Ok, I had to do that. I giggled to myself constantly while photoshopping that. I was going to make one of Chad in borat costume, but it was a little too tough.

Anywho, we got a lot going on this week. Doss is no longer with us, back to a three piece. The website was re-launched with a slightly different look. We have a bunch of shows this week that you can check out by clicking here.

We will be in Pottsville/Russelville, AR tonight at the Galla Creek Country Club, tomorrow night in Springfield, Friday Night in Parsons, and Saturday Night in KC. Fun stuff.

Some of you may have been at the Three 6 Mafia concert. Sweet baby carrots that was intense. We had quite the blast with our friends Boom Kinetic and I kid you not, Free Sol might be one of the wicked bands I've seen in a while. I had to go to the after party at Froggy's aka old Gypsy. They have the most wicked cover of Rage, but their stuff is sweet. Three 6 Mafia had a bunch of girls on stage and sang/rapped all their hits. Quite interesting.

Here is a video of last weekend...

I make you no guarantee, but considering the individuals that will be going out of town with us this weekend, Bob, Andy, Crabb, Benji, possibly Justicles, it should be bananas. For those of you who don't know these people, Benji and Crabb make an appearance in that video, Bob, Andy and Justin are the dudes that you see in pictures often on our pages. Cameras will be handy.

Excuse me, excuse me, are you in a gang?

Peace out people.

I Wouldn't Touch That if I Were You... (by Travis)

Greetings readers. Got a few things to talk about in dis herr blog. We had a very awesome and interesting weekend that consisted of a trip to Tahlequah to play at Brewdogs, the Feed Just One Benefit, and, well, actually thats it.

There are a lot of joys in life... For some people, it's summer time and the beach, maybe a Texas size steak or the love of a good woman. Some might prefer a stake in some love from a Texas sized woman at the beach, for this guy, , it's pudding. Well, for Thanks For Nothing, it's a rock show. We had two this weekend. Tahlequah was "different." Brewdogs is a newer club and everyone there was extremely nice. The only problem was finding it, they didn't have an address. Other than that, the show was totally rockin, proof is in the pudding. HA! I said pudding, referring to the Bill Cosby picture above, get it? But anywho, the proverbial "pudding" will be in the form of a youtube video. Enjoy.

Saturday Night, we took place in the Feed Just One Benefit. The bands involved rocked like Fraggle. The last 30 minutes of our set was one of the most high energy moments we have had in a long time. The crowd was wicked sweet and we had a blast. Feed Just One did well too! Look at the people.

Well, other than that, Cowboys beat the Bengals this weekend. That's a good thing. Next week, we will be in OKC at Tapwerks, last time we were there it was pandemonium. Prepare yourself.

I Failed You All (By Travis)

So I apologize. I promised day by day updates at Bikes, Blues, and BBQ, and I failed you all. I would like to say I am sorry and hopefully try to make it up to you. Here is my explanation...

I walked out of the house and left my memory card in my computer, and not in my camera. Therefor, I was all weekend with out my card. No pictures. I was so scatter brained all weekend from 6 shows in 4 days, I didn't have time to get to the computer. For this, I am deeply sorry... Don't hate.

BUT!!!

I know all of you gentlemen have "hit the wall" on how to act in the public restroom. This should help. If I can't come through with my promises, I will provide you with valuable information.

Bikes, Blues, and BBQ day 1 (by Travis)

Well, day 1 of Bikes, Blues, and BBQ has been completed. Bikes, Blues, and BBQ is the second largest bike rally in the world, second only to Sturgis. over 300,000 people come in from out of town each year. Which is actually 5 or 6 times the population of the actual city of Fayetteville.

The Nick Nolte's were the first performers of the day. We played for vendors and the sound guys. Quite interesting... For those of you who are curious who the Nick Nolte's are, it is Chad and I playing all cover songs that are requested from people in the crowd. It goes over best in a bar/club atmosphere with people close to the stage. Here is the downside to yesterday's show...It was not in a bar/club atmosphere, nobody really requested anything, and the closest person was the guy selling corn dogs the size of an infant.

It's all in good fun though, the stage was definitely the largest the Nick Nolte's have ever played on. Here is some fun pictures taken...

Notice the row of Johnny on the Spots in the background...

I am going to try and keep you guy's informed on a day to day basis for Bikes Blues this year. The other days will be better, I will have my camera with me at all times to document. See ya tomorrow.

Album, Pics, Vids, News, and Hand Sanitizer tricks by Travis

WHAM!!! What was that you ask? That was the sound of the new album dropping. You know what you wanna do, you wanna buy the new Thanks For Nothing album, "Masquerade," don't you! Well, here, download it.

I really think we might be the first people to ever try and get people to buy things directly out of a blog. Don't you want to make history with us? Just do it. In the meantime, while your listening to the songs you just purchased, you can head to tfn.bigcatel.com and buy the album. It's totally worth it. Just do it.

Moving on. So this last weekend, we traveled on the...Wait, time out. I just want to say sorry to everyone who had to get re-added due to the myspace deletion a few weeks ago, I must say that it was the most annoying and frustrating thing ever. Thanks Tom, keep up the good work.

Anywho, last weekend, we went to Louisville, Kentucky and Carbondale, Illinois. Louisville, the Phoenix Hill Tavern, it was an "audition" show for future shows and opening dates for big bands. I guess we will all see if we suck or not here in the next coming weeks. Carbondale, freakin awesome. Awesome enough for us to show this wicked prank on Jacob and part of the show.

Boomshakalaka. A PICTURE!

and another!

Like a ton of bricks. So we were at Mickey D's, Jacob KarDossian decides to drop some serious rock change on a toy, one of the star wars, or star trek, or whatever things that they have right now. After further viewing at said toy, I could not help but notice how close it looks to Tom Cruise. Check it out for yourself.

It could probably pass for a mix between John Travolta and Tom Cruise...Johm Travoltacruise. Kinda ironic that they both study scientology, meaning their religious figures are tall, skinny, gray creatures that drive spaceships. So on that note, be sure to pick up your Johm Travoltacruise toys and McDonald's.

Our merch booth is huge now. Lots of clothing, buttons, keychains, and everything else a homeless person would need. We have this tree shirt that will sell like creeAZY. Check it out...

Now buy it at tfn.bigcartel.com

On that note, I'm peacin.

Everyone come out to George's this Saturday Night. It's the cd release party. Justin Brasher, Will Gunselman, Apollo's Creed, and The Commoners will be there. Come check it out! 18 and up, $5, and yeah. Go.
